• the dunes

the dunes are just that -- dunes. sand dunes, to be specific. there isn't enough dryness in the area to have a full-blown desert, but there's just enough to create a mini desert of sorts. there are few living creatures in this short stretch of sand, but those that are living are hardy and not easily fought. there are a few cacti around as well, as well as one giant, stubborn tree in the center of the dunes that just refuses to die. many think that it has been there for hundreds of years, but no one is certain.
