Intently glaring daggers at Nerrezai, Aya attempted to forget what she had just done in the few seconds before the consequences came into play. Maybe she'll just wimp out and take it, Aya. It's possible, really - it is, she tried to convince herself. She couldn't admit even to herself that she might be afraid of the alpha female's response to her insult. If she let that happen, there was no way of hiding it from anyone else. Nay, she wasn't about to degrade herself like that. Giving forth a slight shift of weight, she gathered her nerve - and saw motion on the edge of her peripheral vision. Curiously moving her head toward Zynex's direction, she for a frozen second saw smoke rising from the fea's maw - and then sight became a blur. Mind not registering fast enough to take in the sudden course of actions, Aya only had enough time to cringe inward and wait for the impact. Surely she can't be that tou--
Thought was all but impossible for the moments after. To be frank, being knocked flat on one's back is not the most pleasant of feelings, much less having foreign jaws clamped dangerously over the vulnerable throat. Definitely not the best of scenarios for the brain to function, but more so by acting on instinct. In fact, Aya nearly sent herself into a fit of struggle to escape the alpha's grasp before shocked by the booming of Zynex's voice seemingly in her sensitive ears. "Unless you want an early death...I suggest you LEARN YOUR PLACE! IF YOU EVER SPEAK THAT WAY TO ME AGAIN, I'LL MAKE SURE YOU'LL NEVER WALK AND LEAVE YOU TO THE VULTURES! DO YOU UNDERSTAND, BITCH!?" Wincing half from the sound impact and half the obvious blow to her ever-existing ego, she could only lay there unprotected whilst it all processed through her slow moving mind. The alpha still continued, though Aya noticed with gratitude that it was in her original, aloof tone. "Dear...I do like your fiery attitude...but may the gods help you if you ever direct it to me again. Do I make myself clear, Aya?"
A short pause from her own person stood naked in the sudden silence. It seemed to drag out into eternity, but finally she had taken in enough of the sudden change of events to register. The stunned blankness of her eyes quickly roared to its original fire, gold glittering angrily up toward the dominant wolf. Lips gladly obliging, a distant sneer slowly crept onto her features. She couldn't help herself but to allow that, if nothing else. "As clear as it's ever going to get, alpha." She couldn't remember the fae's name. It seemed the second best title for her, most especially after the act that had just unfolded. Hey, at least she was showing some respect, even if it wasn't the best she could do. Much better than the beta's 'Lady' term. A growl roughened up the edges of her words, but she made sure not to make herself too offensive. No need for any real violence here, now. She was feeling shameful as it was.
"Now, if you will, let me up?" Aya yearned to sharpen the words with snarls and unneeded language, but she wasn't dim-witted. All she could manage was a somewhat sour tone that might suggest she'd just been beat at a simple, playful game.

That mouth was certainly going to be the death of this female, was all Zynex could think as she slowly relaxed her jaws and lifted her paw from her subordinate's side. If Aya wanted to play the role of the rebellious teen-aged pup, then Zynex would gladly obliged and take on the role of the strong, commanding mother. This would indeed be good practice for when she had pups of her own. She suppressed a chuckle in the presence of her packmate but her eyes still shone humorously at the thought. The autumn fae with pups...that would surely be a sight to see.
Subconsciously her eyes wondered back to her Beta, but the mirthful glimmer was veiled by a skeptical gaze and a raised brow. By the male's stance, was he...protecting the timid femme? Surely she must have been looking at the wrong angle or something to that extent. And took the display as that; harmless. With a wolven shrug, Zyn cast another glance to Aya then padded back to the couple of shadow elements greeting them both with the same, interested look. "I take it you two will get along decently," there was almost an accusing tone in her voice but her face did not betray as such. "I will leave you both to your own doings."
It was unmistakable how her gaze lingered on her Beta, but one would find it difficult to make out the cause for her subtle brush of his muzzle with her tail as she passed. A warning? A hint? Or perhaps a leading gesture? Regardless of what was intended the Alpha took the path to the canyon wall and lept to the nearest protrusion, gracefully scaling the wall to her podium to overlook the wolves below.

Poor Aya. Her ears must have been throbbing by the way her alpha had bellowed in them. Yet, Nerrezai could feel no amount of sympathy for the she-wolf. No, instead it was a slight tinge of pleasure. Aya deserved it after all. And my, was she feisty. Nerrezai could only hope the confident fae wouldn’t try to cause any trouble with her. That certainly wasn’t what she needed now. For the time being, however, Nerrezai was no longer the center of attention, and she thanked Aya for that, but hated her at the same time. Zai could now dwell on how the female glowered at her, and was sincerely puzzled. She hadn’t uttered a word to her, yet she was treated so… disgustedly. Either way, she was also grateful for the fact that Zyn left her soldier in one piece. If blood was shed then Zai probably would have fled.
Now, Zynex was acting quite strange, and that only furthered Zai’s confusion. The doubtful look she sent Razoniel, her shrug, then the interested one she addressed them with, and the tone of her voice. The grey and white wolfess picked up on them and wanted to help, but wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that without first getting to know her alpha. She’d feel as if she was intruding upon something that she shouldn’t. Yet she was glad to hear that she and the dark beta beside her were dismissed. The puzzlement had left her during that moment, but it wasn’t quite done with her yet. It returned with full force as the alphess brushed her tail against the male’s maw, but Zai deemed it as something that she just might as well give up on trying to discern. And she probably would never understand at that.
The timid femme then turned her blue-grey sights on Raz. Actually, Zai could feel excitement bubbling up inside of her, and it felt good, especially after the events that occurred not many months before. She was looking forward to learning from him. “Should we start with a little mentoring, or tour the territory?” She inquired with a light smile, surprising herself with just how well she was faring with her shyness now that she was aquatinted with these three Tytanus wolves. She was hoping for the former.

R A Z O N I E L !! The black male relaxed in his tense, bristling stance in front of the newest pack member as the scuffle ended, Aya being pinned beneath her frightful leader. The words she spoke in surrender were not as respectful as he would have waited for, but Zynex got over her temper and pulled away from the lower-ranking lupine. He wondered how the feistier female would ever hold a true place in the pack, a structure that was supposed to be connected by friendly ties and strong bonds. He was, though he would never admit to it, slightly afraid of what Tytantus would become, if things went on to be like this. More wolves, accepted for power, disobeying their rank and snapping among each other until the bullies won over. Maybe it was the Goronzo blood in him that was making him balk, but he thought that untrue. It was just sense, and a touch of paranoia that all he had worked for alongside the leader would be lost in a sweep of tooth and claw.
Razoniel sighed lightly after the tension passed and found himself meeting Zynex’s eyes across the ground. A subtle, relaxed smile broke over his face, replaced by a faint frown when the look of amusement dissipated, its place taken by a bit of disbelief. He shuffled his forepaws, wondering what he had done wrong, and flicked his tattered ears back. The way the alphess was looking at him was not what he had expected nor desired. She walked forward, and he shifted millimeters toward her, but when she spoke, her tone became unusual. Even as her body began to pivot to leave them alone, the intensity of her gaze lingered on his pelt, and her tail brushed under his muzzle as she walked past. Inhaling the smell her fur left, he watched her go, single eye wide and confused, as he tried to interpret what the touch had meant.
Nerrezai’s voice cut through his muddled thoughts. He blinked and faced her, expression still blank for a moment before he registered her smile and grinned slightly back. At her question, he shook his head lightly. “I’m not sure. A tour may take some time, and I’m not sure if you’d be strong enough just yet to travel around the mountain.” He paused, wondering if the fact they had a mountain in their territory would impress her. He did want to impress her; the feeling of her looking up to him as a mentor was a nice one. She was at Zynex’s age but seemed so much younger, almost like a yearling cub, and he saw the two she-wolves in completely different ways. Perhaps, he mused, Nerrezai would be easier to understand than his Lady’s cryptic looks and mood changes. “It’s up to you,” he added, going as far to nudge her roughly but friendly in the shoulder. As he did so, Razoniel felt his fur bristle, and he turned his gaze up to where Zynex perched on the stone, his expression wistful and thoughtful, before he focused his attention on the other shadow wolf again.

For a second, Nerrezai swung her head back and forth in a vigorous attempt to clear her mind of the confusion. Then she stopped dead, not realizing how stupid she must have looked doing it. Her pupils dilated in horror, yet she turned her face to the ground as she did so to hide it. Her ears were burning with embarrassment, and unfortunately she was so acutely aware of it that she almost lost herself. Ah, how she loved her self-consciousness, but why did it choose now to overcome her?
However, Raz’s small grin was successful in breaking her out of the trance, and she stared up at him, muttering a questioning sound. His words then processed in her mind, realization softening her features once more. She was disappointed to hear him doubting her abilities, but figured that it was justified by her petite frame. Zai couldn’t fight that feeling to prove him wrong though, which she guessed was a start in trying to escape her timidity. Nerrezai was momentarily distracted in her thoughts as the word ‘mountain’ finally gained her attention, and looked up at him in a way that could have been read as ‘oh really?’ Her brow arched slightly in a mild surprise. The Tytanus must have been quite the tough little lupines to be able to conquer a mountain.
The beta’s nudge was, at first, seen as an attack on Zai’s part. It was only those timid reflexes of hers acting up again, and catching her off guard like that with direct contact could do the trick. Her breath hitched in her throat, and she drew her body sharply away from the dark-furred male. Panic flittered in her stomach, flip-flopping her insides. Then, realizing that Raz had meant no harm and it was merely a friendly touch, Zai felt quite stupid. She glanced up at him, muttering shyly about ‘unexpected’ and ‘sorry.’ Her ears burned for maybe the third time that day, and she felt like crawling into a hole and dieing.
She was a bit edgy now, as was obvious by the way her eyes flittered about the canyon walls. Nerrezai was also so caught up in her own contemplation that she did not notice his wistful look at the alphess. She did realize, however, that he was then looking at her and probably expecting an answer. “M-mentoring, definitely,” Nerrezai breathed, her voice a bit shaky. It was strange, she had never overreacted that way before. Well, her last moment of direct contact was with Feather…

R A Z O N I E L !! The beta smirked slightly as Nerrezai shook her head, knowing that even as the female dipped her head in embarrassment he wanted to do the same - anything to clear the confusion raging throughout his mind. Zynex was...puzzling him, lately. He knew that their play fight earlier may have influenced her unusual behavior, but how eluded him. Maybe she was - jealous? What was there to be jealous of? He looked at the younger shadow element with puzzlement, his amber eye flickering over her. He would be her friend, yes, but his leader should come first; the auburn wolf did not have to worry about losing his friendship. Any feelings beyond that did not come to mind, whether from sheer ignorance or self-denial, and he sighed quietly.
As he gave the timid female a gentle nudge, her body recoiled unexpectedly from him. Surprise flared up in his face as he jumped back a couple of steps also, ready to dodge in case her fear drove her to bare fangs at him. The blow did not come, however, and she was mumbling an apology. He blinked. "Don't apologize," Razoniel said in a soft, puzzled voice. He looked her over with obvious concern, knowing that jumpiness like that could have come from a history of abuse. He prayed that her quick reflex was just shyness. As if he could change the past if it wasn't...
"M-mentoring, definitely," Nerrezai said in answer to his question, though she still seemed on edge. His eye softened, and he shook his head lightly to himself. With a smile, he padded toward the entrance to the canyon, about to brush her with his tail to tell her to follow but thinking better of it. He glanced over his shoulder at her and forced a grin.
"Come on, Nerrezai," the black wolf said. "We can train if you're sure you want to now." He nodded at her and then loped through the darkness, with a fleeting glance at his alphess, then let the shadows rise above him to announce his departure.
[ooc; suppose zai and raz leave at this point. =3]

Viggo was still very unsure of this whole "pack" thing. The last time he had been in one, he could not wait to escape the confines of its ritual and boredom. And now, he found himself in one, simply because he had been chasing a hot piece of tail. Inwardly he chuckled at the pun, but his nerves still ran high.
Tawny paws carried his frame towards the scent of his new packmates. His agile nature and speed were working against his will today, moving him forward faster than he wanted. Why had he accepted? Hadn't Zynex seen fit to try and kill him in order to test him? Viggo sighed and resigned himself for the meeting ahead. Yet again, here was another situation his pimp-nature had gotten him into. Not that he regretted being himself... on the contrary, it often had its own perks. Another pun, another nervous chuckle.
His keen ears soon picked up shouting from up ahead. It seemed as though Zynex was always this sort of alphess: yelling and bullying the others. Well, she had said he could have a trial... perhaps that would be all he would need to satisfy himself of this whim. As he neared the local of the pack, the shouting ceased. Along with Zynex's scent came that of two other females and a male. They were indeed a small pack. The quieter sound of wolves heading in his direction reached him, and reflexively a fresh wave of nervous static energy crackled in his coat. Viggo took a deep breath to relax himself, thereby allowing the electricity to ease its way out of his fur.
His posture was neither dominant nor submissive as the others neared him. The amber oculars noticed immediately it was the male accompanied by the female. Now that Viggo was a little more accustommed to Tytanus's scent, he was fairly certain that the male was high ranking, perhaps beta. However, Zynex's scent did not cling to him enough for the pair to be mates.

From her perch against the canyon wall, the autumn fae watched as her subordinates conversed with each other. Her eyes, more so than ears were directed to the pair of shadow wolves as she took on an omnipotent air. They seemed to be getting along well, which the female encouraged, but there inlay a small problem of sorts. That look of hope in the young female's eyes and the almost enthused expression of her Beta, the way he guarded her during Zynex's little confrontation with Aya. It...seemed so foreign for the often stoic male. The only time he displayed anything other than indifference was when he was with her. He seemed almost..happy. But...that nudge, that near brush of his tail, of she noticed it! The sight alone caused an involuntary display of bared fangs and bristled tail. And he kept looking at her, as if he had some devious plan in mind that he wanted to make sure she wasn't aware of. But she saw him...how could she not? His behavior was worrisome, and as she watched him bound off into the darkness, she began to question the arrangement she had permitted. They would have to talk in the morn.
The Alphess breathed in for a releasing sigh, when a familiar, pheromone engorged scent wafted to her nares. Finally he had arrived. The female allowed a satisfied smile to grace her muzzle as a familiar tawny form was illuminated by the waning moon. It's position had somewhat lowered, alerting that the morning was coming. "Well...I thought you weren't coming..." A soft teasing voice flowed from the podium and caressed the walls of the canyon. Rising from folded limbs to stand, a slight slide of her hide-leg struck something hard within a small crevice against the wall. Audits raised in intrigue as starlit lamps revealed what was lodged in the ground. A black metal band, perhaps too wide for a normal wolves legs, but her paws were large and could easily hold the trinket in place. It was a pretty thing, a thick onyx band which shone brightly even in the waning light. The reflected color as well as the body itself reminded her of a certain Grey with similar color variations.
It was perhaps this reminder that urged her muzzle down to released the trinket from its chasm. With several pulls, the band was eventually freed, and within a minute (and a tight squeeze) the cuff was fitted around her right leg. As expected, it slid down her leg and came to rest over her large paw which indeed kept it in place. Excellent.
Temporary distraction satisfied, Zynex returned her gaze to the male below. Tail erect for balance, she lept from the pedestal to another ledge then followed a scattered path down the inner face of the canyon coming to rest on the floor but a few feet from Viggo. Her new trinket made a soft 'clink' on the rocky floor upon her descent. Still harboring the teasing smile on her maw, the fae approached her newest subordinate, each step was slow deliberate as she turned to stalk around the male tail still raised as if flaunting an uncaptured flag. "What took you so long? I didn't think I had gone too fast for you to catch up to me.."

Her fiery voice reached him before he saw her matching coat against the canyon wall. Zynex again perched above him. He wagged his tail at the hint of a flirt in her voice. Even if she was a crazy alphess, he still had the feeling that she wanted him, especially after his surprisingly impressive spar with her. I'm sorry to have worried you, m'lady. I wouldn't have thought to sadden you by not coming.
Viggo bowed slightly to her as he spoke. His words were lined with an undiscernable emotion. He was unsure of how he felt at the moment. His nerves were taunt, and his muscles slightly tensed. He had come too far to simply escape, and there was still the tease in her voice. Truthfully, Viggo could see himself withstanding a lot of torment and toil to mate with Zynex. She was a wonderful specimen: strength and cunning rolled into one package. The moon shone upon her, and he watched head cocked slightly as she tugged something from a crevice. Some sort of bangle graced her leg when she finally landed beside him, having left her perch in favor of nearing him. His pheremones were dimmed, and he did his best to calm these emotions, since she found it so offensive.
Forgive me, lovely Zynex... I'm not exactly the biggest proponenet of pack life, and I had to make sure I had my head on straight before I got here.... He noticed her teasing smile, and he grinned wolfishly, raising his posture slightly at her discourse. Her flaunting made him long for her... wanting her. The charm was turned on. Why, did you miss me?

And with that familiar wolfish smile donned on his muzzle, she knew their flirtatious game was recommenced. His excused graced the interior of one ear then flowed out the other, for she had heard many words of the like in her time and knew that his delay was caused by nervousness. A feeling to be expected when changing form one lifestyle to the next. But, for the sake of another member, she would coddle him if necessary to bring him comfort and show this pack was different than others. And that smile only widened at the thought.
"Don't worry dear, I wouldn't have been sad. Simply annoyed that my invitation was denied." Her tail flicked slightly from its height. "As you can see...we are in dire need of more males. And you would fit just perfectly." She chuckled softly, taking a sharp turn to her right and tightened the coil around Viggo. Her tail hovered by a few inches from his nose. "I was afraid our pack was doomed to be a harem. But nothing is more appealing than a females with power...dont you agree?" There was a foreign twinkle in her eyes, a luring glimmer as the fae ceased her circle and seated herself in front of the tawny male, curling her tail around her thigh. Oh how she enjoyed toying with him.

The wonderful allure of her smell drifted into his nares as her tail lingered inches from his snout. Damn was she amazing. He would most certainly withstand several trials to get with her. As she coiled around him, it was all he could do not to leap on her at the very instand her backside was before him. Obviously the trials from earlier forgotten already, he was falling for her wiles.
Such a role reversal.
Viggo was not used to being the wolf that was being played. Normally he was the wolf in control of the situation; he was the one using his body and his words to charm the fey. If only he knew her game... or even noticed it. She was right. There was nothing sexier than a female with power. As she sat herself before him, he noticed the glimmer in her eye. The glint moved him into action.
Smoothly he moved towards her, almost strutting to show off his masculinity. She had used the one word that had him almost entirely convinced pack life was for him: harem. How could Zynex know that was his ideal pack? His only obstacle in that department would be the other male; of course, if he won Zynex, she was the alphess... perhaps she could take care of him for Viggo?
"I agree entirely." He brushed his shoulder against hers before nuzzling the same place softly. "Would you be willing to show me he extent of your power?"

By those strutting steps of the male, Zynex knew she had him under her spell. If he ever thought of leaving before, she certainly changed his mind now. It was a wonder what a little flick of the tail and a few carefully placed words could accomplish. And now that was left was the finishing touch.
Personal space was a must for the Alpha as she had only allowed Razoniel to be near her, let alone touch her. But, she could not deny Viggo's appeal or that suave disposition her Beta lacked. In fact..there were significant differences between the two males and Zynex subconsciously found herself comparing the two. One harbored an immediate allure, while the other she was uncertain about. All the hints she had given where either ignored or misinterpreted for all she knew. The onyx Grey never spoke his feelings or even hinted if they were more than just friends away from the public eye. It was frustrating at times...but none more so when a male was here willing and able to...to what? Obviously to mate but was there something more than that? Zynex shook her head briefly. This was not the time to sort this out...later perhaps. But now she had a fish to catch.
In response to his nuzzle she gave a soft, pleasured whine and turned her head ever slightly to rub her nose against his exposed flank. She inhaled the decadent scent and even made a show of swiping playfully at his side. "You know..perhaps you came in good time," she growled softly, her eyes laden with a lustful glimmer. "I have been looking for a mate to share this power with...but it seems my Beta has no interest." She feigned a tiresome sigh, only to realize that she was indeed exhausted from the day. Stifling a yawn, she continued and leaned against the male. "But...I shan't bore you with my troubles. I'm sure you aren't interested in this. The morning is coming and there is much to do..." Rising to her feet she lowered her forelegs to the ground, extending her body into a lengthy stretch, tail curled as it too was freed of muscle constriction. Quickly righting herself she shook out her rusted pelt and set toward her podium against the canyon. Pausing in stride for a moment, she glanced over her shoulder to her baited catch. "We can continue our conversation tomorrow should you like..." And with that finally word she ascended to her resting place for the night.

What a woman. From her words to her actions, Viggo was putty in her paws. He would withstand numerous trials just to get a piece of the action. And apparently, he would get the entirity of the action. So he was correct; the other male was in deed the Beta, and apparently she was lonely. Viggo could cure that loneliness... whether for a day or longer. While he was not a monogomous wolf, he would stick with her until she would no longer have him, and to whatever other feys were available.
But the power she was offering him made him wary. Was it simply the power of being the mate to the alphess, or was this a pack that his courtship would send him skyward through the ranks? He did not want power, just pretty ladies and a legacy that would carry on. Already he had a small one, but he wanted a large fecundity. His genes deserved to be carried on from this generation on into eternity.
Regardless, he would be the ideal pack member from now until he first had Zynex. He felt this time would be some time in the near future, but most probably not in tomorrow's conversation. Tail wagging, he retreated to a place further from the pack near the canyon to sleep. His scent was mingled with that of the Alphess, so he was not afraid of being attacked while asleep, but the pack mentality was still rebuilding itself. Chuckling, Viggo made a mental note to razz the Beta that had resisted or ignored the Alphess. How could any wolf ignore her? Unless they weren't into females....
